Andrew Dunn and Scott Hertzog of CAS will Introduce Old and New Tools on SciFinder
The Department of Chemistry Presents: Andrew Dunn and Scott Hertzog of CAS will talk about old and new tools on SciFinder and how to use them.
The ability to search the chemical literature is a critical skill in chemistry research, whether for writing a lab report, journal article, candidacy proposal, or thesis. For this Friday's seminar, we welcome (via Zoom) Scott Hertzog, a Customer Success Specialist and Andrew Dunn, a Customer Success Manager (and our liaison to CAS/SciFinder) from Chemical Abstracts Service, a division of the American Chemical Society. Mr. Hertzog will be walking us through a presentation on the use and recent developments on SciFinder. In preparation for this meeting, or if you have not already done so, please register for an account at https://library.gwu.edu/scifinder-scholar . In addition to numerous on-line resources (video tutorials, etc.) which are available, as part of our contract with CAS, groups can schedule additional training workshops to focus on particular research areas and search tools. There is no limit to the number of users who can sign on to SciFinder so feel free to connect and try out new search tools before, during, and after the seminar.
